During the Week of Love, residents across Tanglewood Care Homes came together to celebrate friendship, romance, family and self-love by sharing cherished memories and words of wisdom gathered over a lifetime.
The week provided a wonderful opportunity for residents to reflect on the moments and relationships that have shaped their lives while offering heartfelt advice to younger generations.
Throughout the week, residents enjoyed reminiscing about special memories and discussing what they believe makes relationships strong and meaningful.
Maureen, aged 85, shared her advice: “Follow your intuition and stick to it.”
Don, aged 88, said: “Always shower your loved one with hugs and kisses every day.”
Caroline, aged 76, encouraged younger generations to remember the importance of self-respect, saying: “Respect yourself throughout your dating and relationship.”
Another resident offered a memorable reflection: “Love is a two-way street, constantly under construction.”
Residents celebrated the occasion in a variety of ways across our homes. Some enjoyed themed parties and social gatherings, while others took part in creative Valentine’s crafts and enjoyed delicious treats prepared especially for the occasion.
Special events such as these form an important part of our programme of engaging activities, helping residents stay connected, social and involved throughout the year.
The Week of Love was not only about romantic relationships but also about recognising the importance of friendship, family connections and the people who make life meaningful.
Residents took the opportunity to reflect on the people they care about most and share messages of appreciation with loved ones, creating many heartwarming moments across our homes.
At Tanglewood Care Homes, we believe meaningful experiences and shared memories play an important role in supporting wellbeing and quality of life. Events that encourage reminiscence, conversation and social interaction help residents remain connected to the people and memories that matter most.
Whether residents are receiving residential care, dementia care or respite care, our teams work hard to create opportunities for enjoyment, connection and personal fulfilment every day.
It has been a truly special week across our homes, and we would like to thank all our residents for sharing their stories, wisdom and treasured memories with us.
