Knitting and crochet help seniors with mental and physical wellbeing. The rhythmic motions can reduce stress and anxiety. Knitting has even been shown to help cognitive ability and memory.
Creative activities such as knitting, crochet and embroidery can also help improve focus, encourage relaxation and provide a sense of achievement.
The social aspect of knitting groups is what we love at Tanglewood. It’s all about fostering connections among the wider Lincolnshire community whilst promoting a friendly and welcoming environment for knitting, creativity and sharing stories.
Our community events help bring people together, reduce feelings of loneliness and create meaningful social opportunities for older adults in Holbeach and the surrounding areas. Social connections and activities at our care homes are important for the emotional and physical wellbeing of our residents. At Tanglewood care homes, we regularly organise activities and outings to combat feelings of loneliness and isolation.
If you would like to attend our knit and natter session, get in touch with our care home activity coordinator team, , or give us a call and press option 2. We look forward to seeing you.
